Electricity output by primary energy source
Generation from black coal declined in FY24 due to the closure of the Liddell Power Station in April 2023. This was partially offset by higher availability of the Bayswater Power Station. In addition, the availability of the Loy Yang A Power Station was higher in FY24 leading to higher generation volumes from brown coal.
Data relates to the sent-out electricity generation from assets over which AGL had operational control during the financial year regardless of who owns the asset. Assets where AGL controls or has rights to the electricity output only are not included. |
In addition to the electricity output shown, in FY24, AGL produced 187 TJ of heat energy (as steam) from AGL's operated natural gas cogeneration facilities. This comprised steam produced at AGL Torrens and sold to Air Liquide. |
Output is rounded to the nearest GWh. |
