All wind farms experienced a drop in capacity factor in FY24 with the exception of Macarthur which stayed steady. The wind farms located in South Australia experienced the most significant drop in capacity factor. These decreases were driven by lower yields and lower availability due to maintenance outages.

Notes

Capacity factor calculations are based on settlements sent-out generation data and AEMO nameplate capacity.

For wind farms under construction or in commissioning during a given financial year, the capacity factor is only reported where material generation volumes have been reached.

Silverton and Coopers Gap Wind Farms are calculated based on 359 and 363 days in the year respectively as generation data was only available for that many days as of data publication.

In June 2024, AGL and Tilt Renewables agreed to terminate agreements pursuant to which AGL provided asset management and agency and dispatch services in respect of certain assets owned by Tilt Renewables, namely the Nyngan Solar Plant, Broken Hill Solar Plant, Coopers Gap Wind Farm and Silverton Wind Farm. As a result, Tilt Renewables will be responsible for operations and maintenance for each facility, while AGL continues to have offtake agreements in respect of these assets.
