Greenhouse gas emissions by greenhouse gas type

Emissions of CO2 reduced in FY24 predominantly driven by the closure of Liddell Power Station in April 2023, as well as lower gas generation driven by lower wholesale electricity prices in South Australia. The reduction in emisisons of SF6 was due to revised operational practices.

Notes

Data includes all AGL's operated Scope 1 emissions. This comprises all direct emissions at facilities which fit within AGL’s operated boundary. Operational control is as defined by the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007.

Greenhouse gas emissions have been calculated in accordance with National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (Measurement) Determination 2008.

Quantities have been rounded to the nearest tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e).

Nitrogen Trifluoride (NF3) emissions are not reportable under the NGER scheme. AGL does not emit / handle NF3 at any facilities in its operational control.
