Operational greenhouse gas footprint (by activity type)

FY24 data will be available in November 2024, following submission of AGL's Section 19 Report under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act. However FY24 Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions associated with the combustion of black coal and diesel at Bayswater Power Station, black and brown coal and natural gas at AGL Loy Yang, and gas and fuel oil at AGL Torrens (together representing over 99% of Scope 1 emissions, and over 85% of Scope 2 emissions) is available here.

FY24 data was updated in November 2024. Data was not available at the time of the initial release of the FY24 Data Centre on 14 August 2024.

These figures include Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions for facilities which AGL had operational control over during the period, regardless of who owns the asset. Assets where AGL controls or has rights to the electricity output only are not included.

Greenhouse gas emissions have been calculated in accordance with the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act.

Figures have been rounded up to the nearest ktCO₂e.

In FY23, AGL implemented changes to our fugitive emissions calculations for natural gas production and storage facilities to align with updated regulations under the NGER Act.
