Scope 3 emissions
AGL's material Scope 3 emissions for FY24 were relatively consistent with FY23 overall. An increase in Scope 3 emissions from the supply of electricity to customers was driven by an increase in electricity AGL purchased and sold to customers in NSW. Decreased emissions from the end use of natural gas by customers was driven by lower gas sales volumes in FY24. Scope 3 emissions from the end use of coal sold to Loy Yang B have increased slightly due to increased coal sales from Loy Yang Mine to Loy Yang B Power Station. Other Scope 3 emissions data for FY24 will be finalised in 2025.

Supply of electricity to customers includes emissions associated with the transmission and distribution of electricity as well as from upstream activities including generation where AGL is short. |
