Pool generation volume
Generation sold to the pool decreased by 7.7%, driven by the closure of Liddell Power Station in April 2023, lower gas generation driven by lower wholesale electricity prices in South Australia compared to the prior year, lower renewable generation as a result of planned outages at the Victorian hydroelectric power stations, and lower wind generation in South Australia particularly in the last quarter of the year. This was partly offset by an increase in generation at AGL Loy Yang and Bayswater power stations driven by higher availability and less outages compared to the prior year, particularly in the second half of the year.
